Riachas

This old little shed was being used to store farm utensils in my childhood. Today it still stands, but unfortunately, it seems to be on life support.
This sketch was made with Pen and Ink with color pencil in my Moleskine Sketchbook.

This painting reminds me of the movie Swiss Family Robinson and all their struggles in life. I am sure that there are many families in this small village that struggle in one way or another every day. This shed shows the wear and tear of everyday life. Beautiful painting

  2. There is still a lot of struggling for subsistence in small Portuguese villages, due to population loss, difficult farming, and lack of job opportunities. Things have improved since my childhood, but it is still very slow progress.
    Thanks for your comment Jewel.
