Another popular Portuguese Landmark, this Gothic Abbey took 145 years to complete in 1533. It celebrates the Battle of Aljubarrota in 1385 between the Portuguese forces and a far larger force from Castela (part of today’s Spain). This view is less well known than its front face seen here.

I will be visiting as many places you illustrated in your paintings as possible. The colors you used in this painting is amazing. This picture will also stick out in my mind as one of your best.
