Nos últimos dias tenho andado a vasculhar fotografias e encontrei o album de 2004 quando fizemos um circuito nortenho. Uma dessas fotografias resultou nesta “meia-hora”.

In the last few days I have been rummaging through my photos and I found the 2004 album when we took a drive around Northern Portugal. One of those pictures resulted in this “half-hour”.

Esta Igreja está localizada dentro da Citadela no tão belo e bem preservado Centro Histórico de Bragança.

This Church is located within the walled Citadel of Bragança with its beautifully preserved castle and surrounding medieval structures.

Mirandela

Se os arcos da ponte parecem todos de tamanho diferente, é mesmo assim que a ponte foi construída. Todos os 21 arcos são differentes. Passei por aqui em 2004 e gostei muito desta linda cidade.

Castelo de Bragança

Este castelo, é parte de um muito belo conjunto arquitectónico incluindo a Muralha, a Igreja de Santa Maria, o Pelourinho - usado para punir delinquentes comums - e a “Domus Municipalis”. Está extremamente bem preservado.

This castle is part of a beautiful setting that includes the Old Wall, Santa Maria Church, and the Domus building. It also includes the Pelourinho (Pilory), a traditional carved stone pilar that was used for chaining petty criminals as punishment. It is extremely well preserved.

Passei por Chaves ou, como os Romanos a designavam, Aquae Flaviae em 2004, e a beleza da cidade forçou-me a tirar muitas fotografias. Esta casa amarela fica ao fundo da bela Ponte de Trajano que atravessa o Rio Tâmega.

I visited the town of Chaves - Aquae Flavie in Roman times - and the beauty of the town made me take a lot of pictures. This yellow house is at the end of the Roman Trajano's Bridge over the Tamega River.
